"George" - Book Summary

This might be the most important novel I've read this year.
George is a sensitive, honest, and much needed story about a girl who - biologically - was born as a boy.

George stopped. It was such a short, little question, but she couldn’t make her mouth form the sounds.Mom, what if I’m a girl?

This story is about a 10 year old boy who decides to reveal her true identity when she could not audition for the lead role in the fourth grades production of Charlotte’s Web. His best friend Kelly was shocked at first when she told her that she was a girl not a boy. Kelly took a couple of days without speaking to George because she didn't know what to say. There were two boys who teased and picked on George throughout the book. If I keep going I might just reunion the twist and turns in the book. To me this is a must read, it could be a heavy read to some but I will let you be the judge of that.

I would give this book  5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The reason I rate this book so high is it touches on a subject that is relevant and children struggle with everyday.
